Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment.
If you have any concerns regarding the safeguarding of any of our pupils please contact one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads
Please see the safeguarding section of our website under Policies > Safeguarding.
In Maths this half term we will be continuing our place value and number consolidation and practicing our independent strategies for addition and subtraction, including using a number line to count forwards and backwards. We will also be exploring position, direction and motion and using key vocabulary linked to this. Please continue to practise reading and writing your numbers up to 100 and learning your number bonds by heart to 10/20.
As always, please continue to read with your child as often as you can. If they have read their school book, please tick/comment in their reading record book and they can get a new book when needed. In addition to this, we will be teaching reading skills (word reading and comprehension) during daily Read Write Inc sessions and will be listening to the children read individually at least once per week.
In English we will be using the school resource ‘The Naughty Bus’ as a hook for our writing. (Please have a look at The Naughty Bus video on You Tube). We will be writing a letter to Mrs Lockett from the Naughty Bus apologising for all the chaos the bus has caused!
This half term we will also be getting ready for our Christmas Concert.
Thank you for all of your support and for your wonderful home learning from last half term, we now know so much about wolves and pigs!!
As always, please see Mrs Greer or Mrs Ashley if you have any questions about how our learning in Year One is organised.
