Communication and Homework

Homework will be given out every three weeks on a Friday. Homework can be done on loose paper and placed into the file. The children will then get the chance to share their homework with their peers.

Reading:  Please read with your child for ten minutes each night. As part of the reading challenge you can sign their reading passports each evening. Children have been given book marks with questions on to help the children reflect on their book.

Please also help your child to learn their year 2 common exception words. These can be found in 'Curriculum evening' file. Please also help your child to read words attached to their reading records.

Writing:  Please help your child to learn their common exception words and spell words containing the sounds attached to their reading records.

Math:  Please help your child:

  • to learn their 2 times tables.
  • know how to write numbers to 100 in numerals and words.
  • help your child to read the time to the nearest 15 minutes.
  • Look for 2D and 3D shapes in the environment and describe their properties.
