Useful Information

PE/Physical Development:

In Reception, we have a PE session with our sports coach every Friday.

As part of our preparation for our PE session, we will be getting changed into our own PE kit. In order to help us to be as organised as possible, and to lower chances of any items of your child's kit being lost, please ensure that every item has been clearly labelled with your child's name.

Phonics and reading:

We have our reading books changed on a Friday each week. The books we bring home at the beginning of the year can be read to us and with us. They are to help us become familiar with books, turning the page, identifying the title etc.

When we know enough sounds and we are beginning to blend and read, we will come home with a Read, Write Inc. Book bag book. These books are changed every Friday and are closely matched to our phonic ability.

There are also a wide range of books and story sacks to choose from in our school library where all are welcome to use after school. Please just enter school from the school office, where you will be signed in and guided to our library.

Snack time;

We are provided with a piece of fruit to eat at morning break time each day, but some parents may wish to provide their child with their own snack. We just ask that a chosen snack from home is a healthy snack and is also nut free.

Until we turn 5, we are also provided with free milk. Once we are 5, parents can decide whether they want to pay for us to continue having milk. If this is something that you would like to do, please just contact the office and they would be more than happy to assist you.

Your child will also have constant access to water so please ensure that you provide your child with a named water bottle for them to drink from during the day.
