Relational Inclusion
Relational inclusion at Stalyhill Infant and Junior School focuses on building strong, trusting relationships so every child feels valued, understood and part of the school community. The approach centres on ensuring every child feels safe, respected and genuinely connected to the adults and peers around them.
Staff prioritise connection, positive interactions, routines and a nurturing environment, and use restorative and nurturing practices to support emotional development. Staff work proactively to understand each child’s needs, model respectful communication and create opportunities for collaborative learning, which helps children develop confidence and emotional resilience.
This relational strategy not only enhances wellbeing and positive behaviour but also promotes engagement, independence, and a strong sense of belonging, helping all pupils to thrive both socially and academically.
