Relationships Education (RSE)

The Department for Education introduced compulsory Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) for pupils from September 2020.

As part of this, all schools were required to consult with parents when developing their policy for SRE.

At Stalyhill Infant School a full parental consultation was held in October 2021 during the development phase of our Relationships Policy and we will consult with parents again if there are any further policy updates.

Effective engagement gives the space and time for parents to input, ask questions and share concerns. When and how content is taught is ultimately a decision for school, and consultation does not provide a parental veto on curriculum content.
