Working closely together

As newly federated schools, the relationship between Stalyhill Infant school and Stalyhill Junior school is strong and growing stronger all the time. Both schools now benefit from a single Executive Headteacher and Governing Body, which means that all decisions taken are done so in the best interests of all children, staff and parents at both schools. Senior Leaders based at both sites, including those working across the two, meet regularly to discuss ways to improve continuity for the children and families at Stalyhill. Both schools now follow similar curriculum and assessment procedures and share all key policies to ensure consistency for the pupils moving between the two.

Throughout the school year Infant and Junior school children come together in a variety of ways to take part in events and shared experiences as part of the federation. 

Since federating, our transition offer has been significantly improved, providing the children in Year 2 with lots of opportunities to visit the school and meet their teachers before they move up. This offer also extends to parents who are invited to a range of open evenings and welcome events both before and after their children move from the Infant to the Junior school.
