Communication
Mon 18 Apr 2016Please can we remind you that from Monday 18th April, all communication between home and school will be being done via Parentmail. This is in order to reduce the schools paper costs, help the school to contribute towards conservation by reducing the amount of paper we use and also to eliminate the frustrations felt by some parents when paper copies of letters are being lost or misplaced and they are not receiving them. Please can you ensure that school has your up to date contact details to ensure that you receive all communication effectively.
Thank you

Easter Bonnet Parade
Thu 24 Mar 2016Thank you so much to all of the parents that worked on Easter bonnets with the children and came to watch our (rainy) parade today. The children really enjoyed the experience and it was clear to see the children’s hard work in the bonnets that were produced. -
Parent Survey Analysis 2016
Thu 24 Mar 2016Another big thank you to everyone that took the time to complete the parent/carer surveys. We had a very good return rate and I’m extremely pleased with the responses that have come back to us. You are clearly as proud of our school as we are! An analysis of the results and some future actions that we will implement as a result of your comments are available to view in the Parents section of the website under 'Letters'.

Possible closure - 23rd June 2016 - EU Referendum
Fri 26 Feb 2016Dear Parents/Carers
I have been advised by the Local Authority that the school is required to provide a polling station for the EU Referendum on 23rd June 2016. At present I am attempting to accommodate this without a school closure, however due to the Returning Officer for Tameside requiring the use of a large space in school as a polling station there may be an unavoidable need to close.
Please be aware that historically we have used INSET days to provide a polling station and agreed the same closure days with the Junior School, however this may or may not be the case for this specific situation.
I will update you with further information as soon as it is available.
Kind regards
Mrs L. Lockett

Mission Statement, Vision and Values
Wed 10 Feb 2016OUR MISSION STATEMENT, VISION AND VALUES
All the Staff have been working hard over the last half term to set the direction of the school and to really understand and encapsulate who we are and what we are about. We have put together a new Mission Statement for our school:
Inspiring young minds, creating learners for life
We felt that this summed up what we are aiming to do in school every day and we hope that you feel it is a fitting statement for us.
Alongside this we have developed a clear vision for the future of the school and a set of values and behaviours that we will aim to demonstrate in order to achieve our vision. These are also on display in the entrance of school.

Bad Weather Guidance
Wed 13 Jan 2016Weather
In the event of severe weather conditions the following guidelines should be used.
In case of snow:-
Look at the School Website – www.stalyhill-inf.tameside.sch.uk. This will be updated on a daily basis to inform you if the school is closed.
Check your emails/text messages as a Parentmail will be sent out to keep you informed of the situation.
Look at the Tameside Website – www.tameside.gov.uk to check if school is closed.
Listen to the local radio stations – Key 103, Tameside Radio.
We will endeavour to keep school open. However, our priority is the safety of the children, and if the conditions are hazardous or a number of staff are unable to get in, then we may have to close.
