  • Hot Weather Precautions – Information for Parents

    Mon 19 Jun 2017

    In today’s extremely hot weather conditions we have taken some additional precautions in order to keep the children safe. At lunchtime no toys/balls were put out so as to discourage the children from running around in the heat. The children were instead provided with a choice of shaded areas to sit in and storybooks were provided for the children to sit quietly and read with friends. Access to water has been provided throughout the day (including the duration of the lunch break) and children have been regularly encouraged by adults to go and help themselves to a drink.

    During this extremely warm spell, we will assess the weather each day and may shorten the lunch break on some days to prevent the children from spending too much time in the sun.

    Please can I remind all parents to provide a sunhat for their child and to apply sun cream to their child before school. Please only send sun cream in to school if your child is able to apply it themselves as staff are unable to re-apply it throughout the day. Please also remind your child not to share their sun cream with other children as this may potentially cause allergic reactions.

  • Year 2 Bridgewater Hall Performance with the Halle

    What a wonderful morning Year 2 spent at the Bridgewater Hall performing alongside the Halle Orchestra. We were so proud of all the children, their wonderful playing and singing and their outstanding behaviour. Well done everyone!

    After watching the Halle make music with their fidget spinners, we decided to give it a go! Take a look at the gallery for a video of our performance.

  • Priory Tennis Day

    Fri 21 Apr 2017

    The children have enjoyed a great day taking part in Tennis sessions with Andy from Priory Tennis in Stalybridge. Please see below for some pictures.

    Andy has made us aware of a free tennis course available at Priory for children aged 5 – 8. Please see below for details.

    In conjunction with the LTA we are running 5 tennis 4 kids sessions (a nationwide campaign to get 20,000 children activated in tennis). 2 of our courses are already full but we have spaces on the following;

    Tuesday 4-5 pm (starts 25th April)

    Wednesday 4-5 pm (starts 3rd May)

    They are free 6 week courses, and those children who attend a minimum of 4 get a free racquet. It's only open to children who haven't played before (or at Priory) as it's at a beginner level.

    To book all you need to do is go to;

    www.clubspark.lta.org.uk

    Click on Tennis 4 kids.

    Pop in your postcode, after which you will see the sessions we are running and the availability.

    Then simply register and book.

  • Easter Bonnet Parade Cancelled for Parents

    Thu 30 Mar 2017

    Due to the MET office forecasting heavy rain from 2pm, we have taken the decision to cancel the Easter Bonnet parade for parents. The children will be given the opportunity to parade in front of their classmates in school and will still receive a small Easter gift funded by the PTA. We will take some photographs and put them on the website as soon as possible.

    Apologies for any disappointment this causes.

  • Easter Bonnet Parade – Thursday 30th March

    Thu 30 Mar 2017

    We will be holding an Easter Hat competition this year and would like the children to make or decorate an Easter hat using any materials, collage type resources.

    The parade will take place on Thursday 30th March at 2.30pm on the playground and parents and carers are invited to come and watch.

    All children will receive a small Easter gift that is funded by the PTA.

    In the event that bad weather cancels the event we will still ensure that children are able to ‘parade’ in front of their classmates and receive their gift.
